We're IN!
We found out today that Taylor and I BOTH have spots in the 2008 St. George Marathon! (There are always more runners who want to get in than they have spots for... so they have to do a "lottery" to choose participants each year.) I'm pretty sure Taylor is excited... I know I am! The race is October 4. (Abby, can we reserve a room at The Hotel McCoy?) We had enough foresight to reserve a room in St. George for the night before and the night after the marathon. Maybe we'll have to make this our 12-year-anniversary get-away without the kids! (All anniversary celebrations to take place before the marathon and sore muscles...)
Of course, this does mean we will need someone to watch our kids that weekend. I know there are so many of you that are hoping to get the opportunity... We'll do a lottery to select their sitter if we have to!

You don't know me, but I live in the northwest too and I am so jealous because St. George is my hometown and I don't get to go back this year. It is so beautiful that time of year. Congrats and good luck!
congratulations! If I didn't have a husband in grad school I'd be there for sure...however...If I lived closer I would also volunteer to watch your kids...too bad eh?
Wait, I guess this "marathon baby" is old enough to be considering more....you are hard core...or just sick.
Congrats to both of you! What a fun thing to do together. I hope Jeff and I get to run one together someday. I loved running a 5k with him!
You know I will help with your kiddos, if I am not in St. George cheering you on! :-)
I hope I don't regret my decision not to enter the lottery. :-)
Hooray! I am so excited for you, and even more excited that I get to have you again! Thanks for including me in your festivities that weekend, even though I am a little ways away. Hey, maybe I'll get to see some of the race this year! mmm...In & Out Burger afterward...XL Dr. Pepper....mmmm. Eating doesn't even count in any way after running a marathon, huh?
OK, and we will try and find a room so we can come join you for the fun in St. George. Actually, maybe Chris and I will leave the kids and have a "kid-free" weekend too! Wanna party??
I'm so excited for you both! What a great way to celebrate your anniversary, running 26 miles side-by-side. Plus, marriage sure can feel like a marathon at times.
