Oliver is on his way!

This is just hot off the press!  My sister Carrie's water broke this evening!... exactly one month before her due date!  Her darling, wonderful, supportive, funny, and all-around awesome husband is in SINGAPORE(!!!) on business.  Can you believe the bad luck?  Please please please.... everyone pray that he will make it back in time for the birth of his first child.  He will be cutting it so close.

Remember this?  

Words cannot describe the joy of knowing "Baby Rhodesbud" will soon be here. So many people contributed and supported and prayed and loved this baby into coming to their family.  So many many people are overjoyed knowing he is on his way. Is this real? It feels like a really awesome and weird dream.  And a movie.  Like Father of the Bride 2.  Remember that?  Except our mom is not having a baby at the same time...

I am so anxious and antsy and jittery and happy and nervous and excited and and and and... I did something really impulsive and bought a ticket to fly out to be with her... just in case Todd isn't there in time... so she knows how loved and adored she is.  I know nothing nothing nothing could take the place of Todd being there.  But I can't just sit here!  I feel like I'm on crack or meth or something. (Never actually been on either, so its hard to say!)   But I'll be in SLC by noon tomorrow.

Please everyone, pray for the safest and s-l-o-w-e-s-t delivery possible for my sister's first baby!  All of your prayers worked before to help get this baby on his way here, let's pray just as fervently that his dad will be there for his arrival.  I know Heavenly Father loves this family and all of His children.  I just hope this last request of our's is meant to be answered, too.

UPDATE:  (the next morning)  I have decided not to go to Utah after all.  Carrie is in good hands with an amazing midwife and our sister Amy by her side.  She was at a "4" as of  6:00 AM her time and the contractions were getting much more intense.  The midwife predicts Oliver will arrive around noon.  Amy is coaching her and helping her relax as Carrie is doing this no meds so far.  Amy says that even in extreme discomfort Carrie is as gracious and kind to everyone around her as usual.  That is so very much my Carrie!  I am so amazed with her strength. I can't imagine what it must be like to be doing this without her husband at her side.  As of this writing he has about 16 hours until arriving.  It isn't looking likely that he'll be there for the birth, but Carrie and Oliver are in good hands.  I cannot wait for all 3 of them to be reunited!

UPDATE THE SECOND: (5:30 PM Utah time)  I last heard from Amy (who has been with Carrie through her entire labor) 2 hours ago. They must both be exhausted! I'm thinking I should have gone now!  As of 2 hours ago Carrie was still not quite ready to deliver.  It seems labor has slowed, but there is no turning back!  It could be any minute as far as I know.   Todd should arrive in SLC in about 6 hours.  I am currently scheming how to find a police escort to take him from the airport to the hospital!  :) Anyone know someone with sirens on their car in the Salt Lake area?

7:20 UPDATE THE THIRD:  She is pushing! Yay!
