When will I learn that a good long run makes everything better? I'm beginning to see a pattern to my posts. And it goes something like this: I have a rough week with my kids, the weekend comes and my long run puts me back into fighting form with spirits lifted. Next time I post something like I did last time, would someone please remind me to put on my running shoes and head out the door?
It also helps that I have the most amazing man in the world for my husband. As I walked in the door after my long run on Saturday morning the whole family was a-flurry with cleaning up the house. The stairs were being vacuumed, the kitchen was getting a good cleaning, the bathrooms were even done. Yes, this is as good as it gets. Thank you so much, Taylor.
And as if this guy wasn't amazing enough, he performed a magic act at our ward's Christmas party/talent show last night. He was as entertaining as ever! The kids LOVED him, and I think the adults enjoyed it, too. He admitted that he really enjoyed it himself to be performing for people that had never seen any of his shows. Maybe we should just keep moving around so more people can enjoy his show. Wait, that would make us carnies. Never mind. I am just so grateful for him right now.
After putting the kids to bed we went on a date to HEB. It was just a trip to the grocery store, but being alone with him is always a fun "date". He makes everything more fun. He makes me smile and laugh even when I'm determined not to. How did I get so lucky? We went by our favorite convenience store on the way home (yes, we have a favorite) and bought GIGANTIC flavored sodas to take home and enjoy with popcorn in front of a movie. And just to prove how amazing this guy is, I'll tell you that he sat through the movie Snow Flower and the Secret Fan... clearly the most "chick" of all "chick flicks" ever created, if you've seen it. This guy is AMAZING! He made what might seem from the outside the most mundane date night into one of the best dates of all time. And it was because I was with him. I'm one lucky girl.

Sounds like the kind of day I am ready for (maybe all except the running part.) And next time you visit your local HEB please check and see if they have a deli, and if they do, see if they make a ham and poblano panini. It is to die for. I had it once and it has ruined me forever (because I live thousands of miles from an HEB you see.) That date sounds just perfect. That guy IS amazing. I miss Francois.
PS You guys would never make it as carnies...your hands are too large.
What a fun day and night! I love Taylor for loving you. Three cheers for a husband who notices and takes action. Glad you had a great weekend.
please come and do a magic show at my ward christmas party. YOu KNOW how fascinated I am by Taylor's magic.
And I just have to ask what you thought of that movie. I saw it with my mom and thought it was very strange.
I "think very highly" of Taylor and appreciate the good match he is for you. Thank goodness for him. Don't be carnies.
I was about to blog about how awful yesterday was with cubby and what a magical gift today has been...maybe we get really bad days to help us see one really good day. I'm glad you have an awesome partner.
During the ward party when Taylor was performing Lisa leaned over to me and said, "Look at Sarah - look at how she's watching her husband perform." As I looked over at you it was almost "magical" - one of the sweetest sights I've seen. You looked completly anamoured with him. You had a sparkle in your eyes and you looked totally twitterpated with him. It was sweet. :)
The truth is... I am always a little nervous when I watch him perform because I know HE is nervous!... even though it doesn't show.
